“If it is free, how do you make money?”
A fair question, and one worth answering directly rather than leaving you to guess. We make money from add-ons - purchase orders, accounting, payroll, e-invoicing, online ordering - bought by businesses that have grown past a single counter. That is the entire model.
We do not sell your data, we do not take a percentage of your sales, and we do not make money by steering you toward a payment processor. Those are the three ways free software usually pays for itself, and we have deliberately closed all of them off.
Which means a small shop can use SumPOS for years without paying us anything, and that is a perfectly good outcome. A free user who recommends us to three other shopkeepers is worth considerably more than a reluctant subscriber.
